Sunday Brunch meme:

1.) Do you live in a place where it snows often?
It snows in Washington every year. That's one of the things I love about my state!

Describe your typical winter and how often it snows/ices/sleets.
A typical winter starts in November. We've had snow in Thanksgiving. The people in Seattle don't know how to drive in the snow. The traffic is a mess and they always close most of the schools. We usually get anywhere from 4" to 6" snow. But it is really beautiful.

2) Have you ever been snow skiing? Where have you gone?
I used to snow ski when I was in my twenties. I had a boy friend in the ski patrol. The only way I could spend time with him was on the slopes! I learned how to ski from an a gorgeous hunk at Mt. Garabaldi, Canada. We have lots of mountain passes in Washington to ski on.

3) What is your favorite part of winter?
My favorite part of winter is waking up wondering why there is so much light coming in through my bedroom window and looking outside to see the sun shining on sparkling snow. It is always so quiet.

4) If you had the choice, would you move somewhere where there was a hard winter?
No way.

5) What is your favorite winter activity or sport?
Sitting by the fireplace sipping spiced wine.

Ready to Rotate

Glad to put "Cats" aside and move on. My next rotation is "Tempest in a Teacup" - this one is small and I plan to get quite a bit done. I have completely changed the colors. I am using: dark, medium and light purple with metallic blend, same for red and gold. Should be interesting.

Here is a quite wrinkled progress photo on my last rotation. I didn't want to press it as I plan to wash it beforehand and not press in the soiled part.

The Weather was Too Exciting for My Tastes!

Go to my "Links" on the sidebar and click on "View of Seattle" to see my newest addition - a view of Seattle from the Space Needle. You can see various parts of Seattle and zoom in and out. Hope you like it. The "Time Lapse View" is my favorite.

I didn't work on my cross stitch last night as we had a lightning storm and I was too anxious to settle down with the thunder and flashes - oh my!

Frogging Out

I have a lot of frogging out to do on my cat picture! Last night I was so tired and wasn't paying attention to what row I was in. The porch on the house in the picture is leaning a little bit.

I don't care - I am going to keep a stiff upper lip as they say.

Weekend Stitchery

I worked on my Cats picture all weekend. Now I remember why I put it aside in the first place. I don't care much for working on 14 count aida after working on linen. Guess it spoils you for aida. I'm hoping that I can finish this picture and get it over with.

Ten Hours on Love, Peace and Harmony

This photo isn't very good but my camera's battery was low:

Love, Peace and Harmony

Well, I have completed my 10 hours on my LPH (see title). I got quite a bit done. I will take a photo of it tonight and post a it tonight. Then I am ready to move on to my next project in my work in progress rotation. This is my first rotation, so all my projects will not show very much progress. I didn't post a photo of my first row in "Nova" (my first project) as it was just the first row (A).

My next project in the rotation will be "Home is Where the Cat Is"

Gold Thread

I'm working along on my project and it calls for gold thread. I noticed that there is alot of gold pattern on the lady's dress and around her. The kit came with three strands of gold! What to do. I paid $78 for this kit. I know, I know it is a lot of money but I really wanted to do this one! I contact Lanarte and tell them about it and guess what they say:

"The Lanarte embroidery kits are provided with ample embroidery yarn. In the exceptional case that the kit does not contain enough threads, you can go to any Lanarte sales outlet with your embroidery. If the shortage is genuine, you will get a supplement of threads which you are short of for free. "

It was the sales outlet that directed me to Lanarte. What's a person to do? I had to go out and buy a replacement for the gold thread.

Cross Stitching Away

I started my large project in my rotation on Sunday. It's Love, Peace and Harmony.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I started in the middle of the fabric (32 ct. linen) and have done six squares of 10 x 10 stitches. I work on it while watching my tv shows after work so I use my True Light lamp. Love it! I can see the colors as it has a full spectrum bulb.
